About Me
Hello, I’m Katie House, a professional portrait artist based in Plymouth, Devon. My passion for art led me to gain my creative degree in illustration at Plymouth University, and since then, I have worked hard to build and develop my artistic skills and my business, Katie House Portrait Artist.
One of my favourite parts of creating bespoke commissions is the wonderful people and pets I get to know along the way. I love to learn lots about the pets or people I am going to recreate, to allow their individual character to shine through. Please feel free to get in touch to discuss your portrait needs.
My Work
I’m passionate about creating both an accurate likeness and allowing the subject’s unique personality to shine through, which I think can make a portrait extra special and different from a photograph. I work with traditional and messy media including graphite pencil and watercolour, using only the finest artist-quality materials and methods, which I learned in my creative degree, to ensure your portrait will remain vibrant and preserved for years to come. I also offer a wide range of services such as:
- Working in two mediums, both watercolour and graphite
- Can create personalised and realistic portraits
- Pet, wildlife, occasion and family portraits
- Can work with separate photos to create group illustrations
- Framed artwork
- Mindful art classes
Commissioning A Portrait
Communication with customers throughout the process is key to the success of a portrait. With this in mind when you commission a portrait we will have a friendly chat to find out what you are looking for. After the initial consultation just send your photo via email or post and I can get started on your design.
